Medical Front Desk Coordinator

My Psychiatrist is a large and growing multi-disciplinary, culturally diverse mental health practice in Reston, VA. We provide medical management, therapy and testing services. We are currently hiring Front Desk Coordinators to join our Front Office Staff. This is a critical role for the Practice. Medical Office/Healthcare experience is extremely important. Job Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phone
  • Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
  • Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information
  • Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
  • Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner
  • Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associates Degree, preferred
  • Medical office experience, required; prefer 2 years proven track record with at least a single employer
  • Knowledge of medical/clinical procedures
  • Knowledge of office procedures, administrative processes and procedures, insurance processing, preparing patient charts, and basic computer skills.
  • Manageable commute therefore priority given to candidates living in the immediate area such as Reston, Herndon, Fairfax, Vienna, Sterling, Ashburn
  • This is a full time position with health insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays and paid lunch break.

Pay based on experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assess and treat clients in an all Outpatient setting
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations
  • Determine treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage medications.
  • Collaborates with the Clinical Team in utilizing extenders including Advance Practice Nurses, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistants, etc. to provide patient care and medication management
  • Provides supervision to staff on patient needs and ensures appropriate care and attention to our patients and their needs
  • Participates actively in team meetings and collaborates with staff on patient recommendations and treatment.

Qualifications and Skills:

Position to work with children, adolescents, and adult. Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing with a variety of audiences and willing to represent the organization within the medical/health-care community.

Minimum:

  • M.D. from an accredited college or university, plus successful completion of residency training and/or fellowship in Psychiatry.

Preference for candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Board Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology;
  • Board eligible from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology;
  • Experience with Cognitive Behaviors?
  • Ideal candidates will be BE/BC in Child Psychiatry and have an interest in a possible leadership role.

  • Experience in treating clients for relationship issues, depression, anxiety, panic disorder, adjustment disorder, and other mental health issues.
  • Provide individual cognitive-behavioral therapy or Dialectical behavioral therapy to children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with related issue.
  • Conduct initial diagnostic assessments.
  • Collaborate with the patient (and family as applicable) to develop a treatment plan to address identified goals in psychotherapy.
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological tests, and write comprehensive reports of test results and provide feedback.
  • Ability to perform cognitive and personality testing for children, adolescent, and adults.
  • Provide culturally appropriate, empirically based psychological interventions in individual and family modalities for psychological disorders including co-occurring substance use disorders.
  • Provide health and behavior assessments and interventions for patients with health conditions.
  • Timely and complete documentation and billing for services provided.
  • Exhibit flexibility, effective communication skills, and an ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Utilize community resources for referrals and assistance.
  • Supervise and train entry-level clinical psychologist and therapist.
  • Assist in maintaining standards for clinic accreditation by health management organizations, internship program accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA), and state licensure.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • P.H.D. or Psy.D. degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • A minimum of one-year experience conducting intake evaluations and 1-year experience administrating psychological testing.
  • A minimum of one-year experience in an outpatient mental health clinic setting.
  • A minimum of one-year experience providing empirically supported treatments, specifically cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Clinical license required.
